<p>The Dordt College men finished fourth overall at the GPAC Championships hosted by Concordia in Seward, Nebraska on Saturday, November 9. The Defenders totaled 96 points on a day where Morningside ran to the title with 41 points.
</p><p>Dordt has at least one automatic qualifier for the National Championship Meet in two weeks as Nick Vander Kooi ran a 26:38 to finish fourth in the 85 runner field of NAIA runners. The top five NAIA finishers not on a team earning a spot at the National Championship Meet will qualify to run at the event in Lawrence, Kansas on November 23. Dordt still has an opportunity to qualify for the event as a team based on the final NAIA National Coaches’ Poll which will be released Sunday, November 10.
Nathan Jackson ran a 27:04 and finished 14th while Chris Postma was 21st in 27:29. Derek Opp and Sam Wensink completed the scoring in back to back fashion in 27:41 and 27:42 for 23rd and 24th.
</p><p>Hunter Weinert and Tim Bierma completed the seven runner lineup with times of 27:55 and 28:03 for 28th and 29th overall.
Garrett Ehlers from Morningside won the race in 26:01.
