The Defender men overcame a sluggish start to win their 13th straight game of the season and improve to 16-1 with a 69-61 GPAC victory over the visiting Concordia Bulldogs. Dordt College improves to 8-0 in the GPAC while Concordia is 2-7 in conference play and 5-11 overall.<p>
Dordt's Kyle Lindbergh dominated the boards, ripping down 19 rebounds while also adding 17 points, seven blocks and five assists for the Defenders. Nathan Rindels led Dordt with 19 points on 7-10 shooting from the floor and 5-7 from the free throw line. Dalton Franken added 15 points, converting three straight baskets in the second half as Dordt completed its comeback and took control of the game. Austin Katje and Tyler Wolterstorff had eight and six points respectively.<p>
Dordt never led in the first half as they fell behind by a 32-16 margin on a Joel Haywood three-point basket with 4:15 left in the half. Dordt proceeded to score ten points in a row with Rindels getting back to back buckets and Franken had three buckets to trim the lead to 32-26 before Concordia scored with under a minute remaining in the half. Dordt was unable to score on the final possession and the teams went to the break with the visitors leading 34-26.<p>
A three-point basket by Lindbergh with 17:53 left in the game cut the gap to 36-35 but the Bulldogs fought off the Defenders and led 47-42 on an Adam Vogt three-point basket at the 12:56 mark. Dordt again cut the gap to 49-48 on a Lindbergh bucket at the 9:31 mark and Rindels had a basket with 7:51 left in the game to make it 51-50. <p>
The Defenders finally took its first lead of the game on a pair of Lindbergh free throws with 5:56 left. A Dalton Franken jumper extended the lead to three and he hit buckets at the 4:46 and 4:05 mark, the final one a three from the left corner for a 63-57 lead and Concordia never got closer than five with Dordt prevailing 69-61.<p>
Dordt outscored Concordia 43-27 in the second half and limited the Bulldogs to 5-25 shooting from the field in the final 20 minutes. Dordt was 25-59 for the game from the field and just 16-26 from the free throw line. Concordia was 18-53 for the game and 16-19 from the free throw line. Dordt had a 45-33 rebounding advantage and both teams had nine turnovers.<p>Concordia was led by AdamVogt with 19 points while Robby Thomas and Micah Kohlwey both had ten points.<p>
Dordt will travel to Morningside on Wednesday in Sioux City while Concordia travels to Midland that same night.<p>
