Dordt College pulled away from AIB in the second half of their non-conference basketball game on Tuesday night in Des Moines to score a 94-65 win for their fifth of the season against one loss. <p>The Defender led by as many as nine in the first half but a late run by the Eagles cut the difference to 35-31 at halftime.<p>Dordt opened the second half on back to back baskets by Dalton Franken and the Defenders quickly built their lead to double figures. AIB made one charge to get within 51-47 but the Defenders regained a double digit lead at 61-50 and gradually expanded the lead to 94-65, outscoring the hosts 59-34 in the second half.<p>Kyle Lindbergh had 23 points and 16 rebounds with five assists to pace the Dordt effort. Dalton Franken was 11-20 from the field and had 24 points and Austin Katje scored 13 with five rebounds and three assists. Tyler Wolterstorff and Bryan Sumner each scored nine and Nathan Rindels had seven points and five rebounds with three assists. <p>AIB was led by Darryl Stewart with 20 points and eight rebounds in his first action of the season for AIB. Brandon Eley scored 12 and had six rebunds. <p>Dordt converted 39-71 shots for 54 percent including 24-35 shooting in the second half. AIB was 26-56 for 46 percent and the Defenders held a 46-24 rebounding advantage.<p>Dordt is 5-1 and will travel to Fremont, Nebraska on Saturday to face Midland.
