For the fourth straight time in the Dordt-Northwestern series the meeting between the two teams went to five sets and for the second time this season Northwestern won, to finish the GPAC unbeaten while Dordt fell to 12-4 in the conference and 32-1 overall. <p>Dordt won sets one and two 25-20 and 25-23, winning set two after falling behind 7-1.<p>Sets three and four were all Northwestern as they won 25-15 and 25-18.<p>Set five saw the Defenders recover to take an 8-5 lead on kills by Lindsey Floen and Brooke Wolterstorff. Dordt held on to a 11-9 lead after an attack error by Karlie Schut. Northwestern eventually tied it at 12-12 on back to back kills by Haley Chambers and the hosts took their first lead of the set on a Kellie Goedken kill at 14-13. A Kayla Gesink kill evened the score at 14-14 but back to back kills by Kaitlin Floerchinger won the set and match for Northwestern.<p>Dordt wasa led by Brooke Wolterstorff's 16 kills while Jenna Horstman added 11 and Meghan Krausman 10. Kayla Gesink put up 38 assists and Kayla Broekhuis got to 25 digs.<p>Northwestern was led by Schut's 23 kills and Floerchinger had 20. Brooke Fessler put up 51 assists and Flerchinger had six ace serves with 20 digs. Northwestern had 11 ace serves and Dordt had five.<p>Dordt will now face Briar Cliff on Saturday night in GPAC Quarterfinal round play at 7:30.
