The Dordt College Defender men's soccer team turned a 1-0 halftime advantage into a 4-0 win over Clarke (Iowa) on Wednesday afternoon in Dubuque, Iowa.
Derick Sackey scored the first two goals for the Defenders and Brady Van Holland had a hand in two goals as Dordt improved to 2-6 in non-conference play.
Sackey's first goal came in the seventh minute when Eric Grootenboer fed him with an assist and that goal stood to halftime. Sackey scored his second goal in the 58th minute off an assist by Brady Van Holland. Van Holland got into the act with a goal of his own off an assist by Mason Nab in the 63rd minute. Braden Graves finished the scoring with a corner kick that found its way into the net in the 87th minute.
Jon Brinkerhoff recorded the shutout in goal for the Defenders while recording eight saves. Dordt had 19 shots total and 13 on goal.
Dordt is 2-6 entering GPAC play Saturday in a home game against Midland.
