The Dordt Defender women dropped a 7-0 decision to Columbia College Saturday in non-conference action.<p>
The Cougars of Columbia scored three times in the first 15 minutes, including a goal by senior Lauren Beishir 50 seconds in. Freshman Carlie Howe and junior Tori Magaletta added the other two first-half goals against freshman goalie Deianira Felts. Columbia led 3-0 at halftime.<p>
Senior Katie Kortman replaced Felts in goal for the second half and fared well until a late Columbia barrage. With the score 4-0, junior MacKenzie Knepper scored two goals in three minutes, beating Kortman in the 78th and 80th minutes to make it 6-0. Junior Sandra Mendonca tallied another goal one minute later to round out the scoring.<p>
Dordt remains in search of their first goal of the season. They dropped to 0-3-0 with the loss.
<p>Columbia stayed undefeated at 3-0-1.
<p>The Defender women will face College of St. Mary Tuesday at 5 p.m.
