<p>Ryan Tholen led the Dordt Defenders to fifth place finish at the Briar Cliff Invite on a chilly morning at the Adams Nature Preserve in McCook Lake, South Dakota. Tholen raced to a 25:26 on the 8,000 meter course to lead a tight pack of runner for the Defenders.
</p><p>Dordt's next five runners were within 22 seconds of each other. Nathan Jackson ran a 26:22 for 27th overall and Chris Postma was 33rd in 26:33. Trent Kischer ran a 26:35 and Jake Byma a 26:40 for 35th and 40th overall and Tim Bierma was 43rd in 26:44. Ryan McNamara was seventh in line for the Defenders with a 26:49 for 48th overall.
</p><p>Sioux Falls won the race with a total of 27 points and were led by Billy and Bobby Brockmueller with first and second place times of 25:07--the two finished within a second of each other.
</p><p>Dordt's 129 was behind Morningside and Concordia with 61 and 65 respectively.
</p><p>Dordt will run next run at the Mount Marty Invite in Yankton in two weeks in the final race before the GPAC Championships. </p>
