In the second half the 'Wolves got within 18 points (41-23) with 13:54 to play but another big Defender run, this one 13 straight, pushed the Dordt lead to 31 (54-23) with 9:30 to play and Nebraska Wesleyan would get no closer than 29 down the stretch, in dropping their 5 straight conference contest.<p>
Leading all scorers was Dordt's Kayla Broekhuis who finished with 17 points on 7 of 13 shooting with 3 of 7 coming from behind the arc and Broekhuis all picked up 3 steals. Elise Maresh had a dozen for the Defenders on 4 of 6 from the floor and 4 of 5 from the line while also snaring 6 rebounds. "I thought we cut down on our mistakes and Danelle got going late in the half," said Dordt coach Craig Stiemsma. "Brianna Spronk did a fantastic job of stopping Mallory Shanahan. That's the big stat that we limited her to two points--she's a 20 points per game player."
