The #19 ranked Viterbo V-Hawks swept the Dordt Defenders in non-conference volleyball at a classic hosted by Bellevue University in Bellevue, Nebraska on Saturday morning.<p>Dordt lost by scores of 25-20, 25-23, 25-18.<p>Viterbo pulled away from an 11-11 tie in set one with four of the next five points. Dordt cut the lead to one at 21-20 after an attack error by Viterbo but the V-Hawks closed with a four point run to make the final 25-20.<p>Set two had the Defenders down early but they fought back to take the lead at 12-11 on another Viterbo attack error. Dordt led 15-13 after Kayla Gesink dropped a kill in but the V-Hawks went up 20-17 while outscoring Dordt 7-2. Viterbo led by as many as four at 21-17 but Dordt cut the gap to 22-21 with Danae Geels getting a kill and the Defenders tied it at 23-23 on a kill by Lindsey Floen. An attack error gave the V-Hawks a one point lead and they got a kill to finish it 25-23.<p>A 10-1 lead for Viterbo in the third set put the contest out of reach and Dordt never got closer than four in falling 25-18.<p>"We played a very consistent team and struggled to find consistency of our own," said Dordt Coach Chad Hanson. <p>Dordt was led by Loy Sahr and Lindsey Floen with seven kills each. Katelyn Schuller added six kills and Kayla Gesink had 29 assists. Geels had six kills and Kayla Broekhuis got to 16 digs. Celaine Haan had a team high two ace serves.<p>Dordt falls to 18-6 with the loss.
