Dordt College won its eighth match of the season in ten starts with a 25-17, 22-25, 25-19, 25-21 win over the College of the Ozarks (Missouri) on Friday afternoon in Hastings, Nebraska.
The Defenders used a punishing attack at the net to pull away from a 1-1 set tie to win sets three and four 25-19 and 25-21.
Dordt was led by Danae Geels with 14 kills and Lindsey Floen had 13 with four blocks. Loy Sahr put down 10 kills and Megan Krausman added nine. Kayla Gesink put up 42 assists in the win while Kayla Broekhuis had 10 and Jana Van Zanten added two ace serves.
"This match was a great test for us due to the fast tempo of their offense," said Dordt coach Chad Hanson. "We really performed well with defensive adjustments as well as serving aggressively."
Ozarks falls to 4-6 while Dordt is 8-2.
