Dordt College lost an 18-11 decision to Wisconsin Stout in game one of their doubleheader at Chandler, Arizona, on Monday, March 12. The Defenders surrendered eight runs in the second inning which put Stout in control of the game. <p>The Defenders had a 4-3 lead after one inning with Dustin Brisel, Aaron Parks and Mark Lyzenga providing run scoring singles. Stout's second inning outburst included eight runs on six hits. <p>Drodt was down 13-6 after three innings but a five run fourth by Stout stretched the difference to 18-6. The Defenders did get two in the sixth and three in the seventh for the final of 18-11.<p>Both teams had 16 hits with Nathan Fraley going 3-4 at the plate with two runs scored. Travis Dekkers, Dustin Brisel, Dane Le Platt and Zach Staudt all had two hits each with Dekkers knocking in three and Brisel scored twice along with Nick Serrato. Eric Torgerson was the starter and took the loss.
