Kacy Oberfoell scattered four hits in a strong pitching performance and the Dordt College Defender softball team scored two late runs to forge a 2-1 win in game one of its doubleheader with the Briar Cliff Chargers on Wednesday night in Sioux Center. <p>Briar Cliff got a run in the third inning on a pair of hits and a throwing error.<p>It wasn't until the sixth inning when Megan Huizenga singled and Ashley Viet walked with two outs. Haley Huisman then delivered a double to score the tying and go ahead run. <p>Briar Cliff got a lead off single in the seventh, pushed the runner to second on a sacrifice bunt, advanced Hendrix to third on a grounder and then had the game end on a ground out to shortstop.<p>Oberfoell won her ninth game of the season while striking out four and walking none. Ashton Beaird had a single and a double and was the only Defender with multiple hits. Huisman's double was the only other extra base hit.<p>Jennifer Bye took the loss for Briar Cliff while allowing six hits and struck out two. <p>Dordt stranded seven to Briar Cliff's three.
