Dordt College softball relinquished a 3-0 lead after the top of the second, allowing five unanswered runs, and fell to the Doane Tigers 5-4 in game one of their doubleheader on Saturday afternoon in Crete, Nebraska.<p>Dordt got their three runs in the top of the second with Megan Huizenga doubling in Kacy Oberfoell and Ashley Viet clubbed a homerun for the 3-0 lead.<p>The three run cushion proved to be brief as Doane scored three runs on two hits and an error for a 3-3 tie. Dordt dodged a bullet in the third when they forced Doane to strand runners at second and third. Doane took the lead on a Nichole Diaz homerun in the fourth and Brooke Sampson homered in the fifth for a 5-3 lead. Dordt got one run back in the sixth when Ashton Beaird singled and Ashley Viet tripled her in with a shot down the rightfield line. After a Haley Huisman walk Viet was picked off at third to end the inning. <p>Doane stranded two more runners in the sixth but Dordt couldn't take advantage of a leadoff single in the seventh, leaving that runner at first when the inning ended.<p>Dordt was outhit 10-7 with Viet getting two hits and three runs batted in. Five other players had a hit each for Dordt with Megan Huizenga collecting a double for the only extra base hit by someone other than Viet.<p>Kacy Oberfoell took the loss while allowing five runs on ten hits iwth one walk and four strikeouts. Kelsey Huenink had four runs on seven hits with ten strikeouts.<p>
