Dordt College allowed a run in the first and one in the sixth and lost a 2-0 decision to Midland in game two of their doubleheader in Fremont, Nebraska on Saturday, April 14.<p>Midland got one run on two hits and two walks in the first inning with Dordt's Sidney Larsen getting out of the inning as she stranded three runners. The Defenders finally had a scoring chance in the sixth with Kaitlyn Lockhorst and Ashton Beaird both reaching and advancing to second and third with one out. Two line drive outs ended the inning and Midland got a run for insurance in the sixth and forced Dordt to strand two more runners in the top of the seventh for the 2-0 win.<p>Larsen took the loss as she allowed one run on seven hits with two walks and three strikeouts. Brittany Kooiker gave up an unearned run in the sixth and struck out one. Lockhorst, Beaird and Viet all had singles for Dordt as they dropped to 17-17 overall and 7-5 in the league.<p>Midland's Kerra Granski had three walks and eight strikeouts while getting the shutout.<p>Dordt will face Briar Cliff on Wednesday, April 18 in the next outing for the Defenders.
