Dordt College lost a 5-0 softball decision in game two of their doubleheader with Northwestern on Tuesday night.<p>Northwestern scored a run in the first on three hits and left the bases loaded as Dordt hurler Sidney Larsen worked out of the jam with strikeout and a lineout to finish the frame. The score remained 1-0 with Dordt missing an opportunity in the bottom of the first, leaving the bases loaded. Dordt got another runner as far as third in the fourth when Megan Huizenga doubled. Kim Buyert ran for Huizenga and got to third on a ground out but pair of strikeouts ended the threat. <p>Northwestern scored one in the fifth and then scored on a pair of solo homeruns by Kara Nonnemacher and Jillian Kleinhesselink to make it 4-0 and Northwestern capped the scoring with a homerun by Shelby Johnson in the seventh.<p>Dordt was outhit 11-7 with Kacy Oberfoell getting a single and double and Huizenga had a double as well. Sidney Larsen took the loss with five runs allowed on 11 hits and struck out three. Brittany Kooiker came on in the seventh and retired the three batters she faced and struck out two.<p>Northwestern got two hits each by Kleinhesselink, Kami Kuhlmann, Johnson and Nonnemacher. Katie Vande Voort was the winning pitcher with one walk and six strikeouts.<p>Dordt is 16-16 overall and 6-4 in the league. Northwestern is 21-10 overall and 7-1 in the GPAC. Dordt's next action is Saturday when they travel to Fremont, Nebraska to face Midland.
