A nine run explosion in the sixth inning led Northwestern to a 13-3 win in game of their doubleheader with Dordt on Wednesday night in Sioux Center. The Raiders took advantage of five hits, four walks and a hit batsman to turn break a 3-3 deadlock.<p>Dordt led early with Aaron Parks doubling to lead off the second and he advanced to third on a Mark Lyzenga single. Zach Staudt knocked the run in with a fielder's choice and Dordt missed on a bigger inning when they left two on base. Earlier in the first Dordt was turned away after getting the bases loaded with no one out, but couldn't get the timely hit. <p>Northwestern tied it in the third but Dordt plated two Dustin Brisel hitting a double and Jon Holwerda singled him in. Holwerda would then score on a Lyzenga single for a 3-1 lead. <p>Northwestern two two runs to tie it in the fourth and after a scoreless fifth the Raiders got to Dordt starter Lucas Carls in the sixth. Carls was charged with the first four runs of the sixth, leaving with two runners on and two runs across. Nick Serrato came on in relief and finished the sixth and Josh Van Kekerix worked the seventh and allowed one run on one hit.<p>Dordt struggled with walks, allowing nine for the game. Northwestern's Ryan Brasser got the win, allowing one hit and one walk in three innings of relief and he struck out six.<p>Dordt was outhit 10-9. Fraley, Dekkers and Lyzenga all had two hits and Serrato walked twice.<p>Dordt is now 4-14 in the GPAC and 13-29 overall. Northwestern is 26-20 and 10-8. Dordt will conclude its season on Thursday, April 26 when they travel to Dakota Wesleyan for a 1:30 doubleheader.
