Dordt College lost a 4-3 decision to Hastings in game two of their baseball doubleheader on Friday night as the Broncos earned a sweep of the GPAC opener for both teams. <p>Hastings got one in the third that Dordt matched with an Aaron Parks sacrifice fly in the top of the fourth. The Broncos got three more off starter Ben Van Kekerix in the home half of that inning for a 4-1 advantage.<p>Dordt got two runs in the top of the fifth with Josh Peterson singling in a run and Eric Anderson had a ground out that pushed a run in. Dordt left two runners on base when the inning ended. Dordt got one runner on in the sixth in their final threat but that runner was retired at third.<p>Dordt was outhit 10-7 with Peterson and Mark Lyzenga getting two hits each. Lyzenga had a double and a single. <p>Ben Van Kekerix took the loss in allowing four runs on seven hits with two walks and four strikeouts. John Drenten pitched the final two innings and allowed three hits and a walk with no runs. <p>Dordt is now 9-12 overall and 0-2 in the league while Hastings improves to 9-19 and 2-0.
