<p>Dordt College sent women's and men's cross country teams to the Augustana Twi-Light Invite on Friday night, September 2. The races got underway at 8:30 and were run at Yankton Trails. There was no team standings kept in the first action for most teams.
</p><p>Dordt's women were led by Michelle Steiger with a time of 17:39 on the three mile course. The 2010 NAIA All-American crossed the line 8th overall. Renee Buikema and Merissa Harkema were 12th and 15th overall with times of 17:45 and 17:58 respectively. Lillie Koerner finished 20th in 18:08 and Katie Bonnema was the fifth runner across for the Defenders with a time of 18:54. Lauren Opp and Gail Dirksen were right behind in times of 18:59 and 19:04 which were good for 39th and 41st place.
</p><p>The women's race was won by Augustana's Kyle Blakeslee with a time of 16:50. 100 runners competed in the event.
</p><p>The Dordt men had five runners finish within 1:12 of each other. Eric Tudor finished 19th with a time of 20:04 and Ryaln Tholen was 24th in 20:24. Derek Opp and Nathan Jackson finished next to each other for 35th and 36th place and recorded times of 20:54 and 20:56. Jeremy Van Woerden was next in 43rd place in 21:16. Chris Postma and Trent Kischer were 50th and 55th respectively in the 118 member race with times of 21:32 and 21:39.
</p><p>Travis Beniak, competing unattached, won the event in a time of 18:55.
</p><p>Dordt College is scheduled next to compete at the Woody Greeno Invite on September 17 in Lincoln, Nebraska.</p>
