Dordt/Northwestern Pizza Ranch Classic
After a loss on Friday the Dordt College women's soccer team rebounded with a 3-1 win over the Waldorf (Iowa) Warriors on Saturday, September 3 as part of the Dordt/Northwestern Pizza Ranch Classic.<p>Dordt pulled away from a 1-1 tie to score two unanswered goals to improve to 2-1.<p>The Defenders outshot Waldorf 20-2 with 13 of those shots coming on goal for Dordt while the visitors put two on frame.<p>Rindy De Nooy scored in the 16th minute off a chip shot for a 1-0 lead. Tiffany McNelly had the equalizer in the 21st minute but the Defenders went into the half up 2-1 with Morgan Meissner unlocking the tie in the 36th minute with an assist from Meghan Warners. The header by Meissner came off a free kick. De Nooy figured into the insurance goal with an assist to Tara Postma in the 57th minute on a crossing shot by De Nooy.<p>Dordt will take a 2-1 record to Minot State in Minot, North Dakota on Friday, September 9.
