Vasquez To Play Football At Dordt

(Monday, May 12; Sioux Center, Iowa) Alex Vasquez, a senior at Creekview High School (Texas), has announced his intention to attend Dordt College and join the Defender football program.

Vasquez earned all-district honorable mention honors at linebacker the last two years and was an academic all-state selection this season.  He had 59 tackles for loss and 107 total tackles while playing linebacker.  Vasquez was the team’s defensive mvp and also was a member of the National Honor Society. 

Alex is the son of Nancy Burbano and Jairo Vasquez of Carrollton, Texas.  He plans to study physical therapy at Dordt College.

Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. Dordt’s athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC). 

U.S. News & World Report,, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,400 students.
