Dordt Men's Golf At Yankton

Meet… The Defenders will compete in the Lancer Invite at Fox Run in Yankton, South Dakota on Thursday, April 24.  The meet will serve as a preview of GPAC #4 to bbe held on Monday, April 28 to bring the season to a close.

Last Time Out…The Dordt College men's golf team finished ninth at GPAC Qualifier #3 held at Lochland Golf Course in Hastings, Nebraska. The Defenders totaled a 328 on a day where Nebraska Wesleyan had the low team total of 298.

Dordt was led by Nathan Middel's 76 which tied him for sixth in the field. Trey Hugen had an 80 and Rees Beaver an 85 while Matthew Moen carded an 87.

Last Time On This Course… Dordt last competed in this course in September 2011 in GPAC #1.  The Defenders finished in eighth place at the event hosted by Mount Marty.  

Dordt carded a 317 in a tightly contested competition where the top six teams are separated by 11 strokes. Nebraska Wesleyan leads the team field with a 296 while Northwestern, led by low-scorer Neil Malenke, fired a 298. Malenke came in with a 68.

Dordt was led by Ryan Kamp's 75 which puts him in a tie for tenth place overall. Brandon McCracken shot a 76 which puts him in fourteenth place. Madison Moss carded an 82 while Jon Holwerda completed the Dordt scoring with an 84.

The Lineup… Dordt’s lineup will likely include Nathan Middel with a season average of 80.5 through 11 rounds and he has seven sub-80 rounds and a low of 73 at the Siouxland Invite.  Trey Hugen has an 81.7 average through 12 rounds and has a pair of 78s for season lows.  Derek Fox’s average is 82.0 through nine rounds and has a low of 73 recorded at the Siouxland Invite.  Madison Moss has the lowest average of all Dordt golfers with a 79.9 average over 11 rounds of play.
