Dordt Signs Vrieling For Softball

(Tuesday, January 7; Sioux Center, Iowa) Shelby Vrieling, a senior at Ripon Christian High School (California), has announced her intention to attend Dordt College and join the Defender softball program.
Vrieling has a career batting average of .286 and an on base percentage of .430. Vrieling, an outfielder, second baseman and pitcher, has a career earned run average of 3.05. She earned all-league honorable mention as a sophomore and first-team honors as a pitcher after her junior season. She was the team mvp and scholar-athlete. She has pitched two perfect games during her high school and travel team career.
Shelby is the daughter of Shannon and Julie Vrieling of Ripon, California. She plans to study Criminal Justice at Dordt College.
Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. Dordt’s athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC).
