Dordt College Honors Recital

The Dordt College music department is presenting an Honors Recital on Friday, September 20, at 3 p.m., in the B.J. Haan Auditorium. A reception honoring the performers will follow in the lobby.
Performers in the honors recital have all received music scholarships made possible by Dordt College donors. These scholarships were awarded to freshmen who contributed significantly to their high school or community music program and to upperclassmen who have contributed significantly to the Dordt College music program. The recital will feature piano, organ, instrumental, and voice soloists.
Performers include pianist Ranita Badudu (Indonesia), organist Ranae Boonstra (Hull, Iowa), organist Mandy Faber (Kirkland, Washington), soprano Rachel Kooiman (Doon, Iowa), organist Ali Kroese (Hull, Iowa), pianist Monica McConnel (Sioux Center, Iowa), organist Ivory Niewenhuis (Corsica, South Dakota), alto Tia Nieuwsma (Sioux Center, Iowa), tenor Lucas Simonson (Zumbrota, Minnesota), organist Joni Van Den Top (Rock Rapids, Iowa), pianist Lauren Vermeer (Lansing, Illinois), organist Anna Visser (Ingersoll, Ontario), pianist Lisa Westra (Hull, Iowa), and clarinetist Katy Wilson (Mason City, Iowa).
The musicians performing in the recital are the recipients of the following scholarships: the Bloemendaal Organ Scholarship, the John and Frances Bonnema Memorial Music Scholarship, the Joe J. Dahm Memorial Music Scholarship, the Minnie J. Dahm Organ Education Scholarship, the Jack Grotenhuis Memorial Scholarship, the John and Reona Reinsma Organ Scholarship, the Ringerwole Organ Scholarship, the Ringerwole Piano Scholarship, and the Steensma Music Scholarship.
