Drenth Inks With Defender Men's Soccer

Jacob Drenth, a senior at Scottsdale Christian Academy in Arizona, has announced his intention to attend Dordt College in the fall and join the Defender men's soccer program.

Drenth is a 5'11", 150 pound midfielder for the Scottsdale Christian Eagles and the Sereno Soccer Club.  Drenth was a four year varsity starter for the Eagles and finished his senior campaign with 12 goals and 7 assists and helped the school to three consecutive Arizona Division III quarterfinal appearances.  Drenth helped the Eagles to the 2012 Arizona Lutheran Winter Classic title and was named the All-Tournament Player while also garnering an Arizona 1st team honorable mention.

Drenth has competed for the Sereno Soccer Club for eight years and the team has picked up multiple championships including the 2013 Alianza de Futbol-U18 title and the 2013 Las Vegas Players Showcase-U18 title.  The Sereno boys '95 team is currently ranked #38 in the nation and #3 in the state of Arizona.

Jacob is the son of Cal and Bonnie Drenth of Cave Creek, Arizona and he plans on majoring in Engineering at Dordt.
