Kroeze To Attend Dordt College

(Wednesday, April 10; Sioux Center, Iowa) Kim Kroeze, a senior at Western Christian High School, has announced her intention to attend Dordt College and join the Defender track and basketball programs.

Kroeze, a multi-sport standout at Western, was a part of one volleyball state title team and two state runner-up squads; was a part of two state champion basketball teams; five state champion track relay teams and won the 400 hurdles last year while posting one of the four fastest times in all classes in Iowa in that event in 2012.  She’s a two-time all-conference and all-district performer in basketball and was also an all-conference and all-district performer for the Western volleyball team.

Kroeze posted a time of 1:04.17 to win the 2012 state championship in the 400 hurdles and helped Western to three all-district titles in 2010, 2011 and 2012.  She’s been a place winner at the state meet in 11 events over the last three years and claimed all-conference and all-district honors in 12 events over the past three seasons ranging from the 100 hurdles to the 4 x 800 meter relay.

A 5-7 guard in basketball, Kroeze averaged 9.0 points, 3.6 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 2.3 steals per game in 2012-13.  Her numbers in 2011-12 were very similar with averages of 9.7 points, 5.1 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 2.5 steals and she was a member of the 2012 all-state tournament team.  Western was 51-4 the last two seasons in basketball.

Kim is the daughter of Dan and Linda Kroeze of Hull, Iowa.  She intends to study exercise science at Dordt College.
