Dordt Men No. 11 In Final Poll

(Wednesday, February 27; Sioux Center, Iowa) The Dordt College Defender men’s basketball team moved up two spots in the final NAIA Division II Men’s Basketball Coaches’ Poll with three wins in the GPAC post-season tournament.

The Defenders, now 26-6, took 238 points in the polling system to go from No. 13 to No. 11. Dordt won tournament games over Briar Cliff, Midland, and Morningside to win the school’s first ever GPAC Tournament championship in men’s basketball.

The Defenders are one of three schools in the poll this week. Northwestern is No. 4 in the poll, and Midland improved to No. 25. Both teams will also be in the National Tournament along with Dordt College. Dordt and Northwestern both earned automatic berths in the tournament and Midland earned an at-large berth.

William Penn remained No. 1 in the poll with 13 first place votes.

Pairings for the Division II National Tournament March 6-12 will be announced Wednesday, February 27, at 7:15 pm.
