Dordt College wins awards for publications

February 7, 2013

Two Service Industry Advertising Awards (SIAA) were awarded to the Dordt College marketing department. They received a Bronze award for Jubilee to Jubilation, a combination of the college’s annual president’s report and the conclusion of the Beyond Jubilee Vision 2020 Campaign. The college’s redesigned alumni magazine the Voice received a merit award.

The college changed the Voice from a newspaper to a magazine format focusing on improving the overall design and readability, including more brief stories while continuing to offer the in-depth pieces that Dordt’s constituency had come to know and appreciate.

Jubilee to Jubilation balanced story-telling, statistics, and visual appeal. The primary goal of the piece was to share the college’s story, re-engage constituents, and thank those who contributed to the campaign and the college’s mission.

A national panel of judges reviewed all 2,000 entries and judged them on execution, creativity, quality, consumer appeal, and overall break-through advertising content. Learn more at

The Voice also recently received a Bronze award from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) in the category of Magazine Publishing Improvement, and Jubilee to Jubilation was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the 2012 Premier Print Awards.
