Women's Basketball In Chicago For Pair

GAMETIME...Dordt College is scheduled to face Moody Bible Institute on Friday, November 9 at 7:00 in a classic hosted by Moody Bible located in Chicago, Illinois.  Dordt will play a second game on Saturday, November 10 against either Ohio Christian or Roberts Wesleyan.  The winners of the two games will play at 2:00 while the losers will play at noon.

SCOUTING REPORT… Moody Bible is 0-2 this season with losses to Robert Morris Springfield and Trinity International at a classic hosted by Trinity International last weekend.  Information on the Moody Bible team is quite limited but we do know a little bit.  Rani Hadley averages 12.0 points per game with 3.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists.  Jenna Bloodworth puts in 10.5 points per game with 8.5 rebounds and Steph Homontowski is scoring 10.0 points per game.  Moody Bible has been outscored 78.5-55 this season.

Ohio Christian is 2-0 with wins over OU Chillicothe and OU Lancaster.  The Trail Blazers outscore teams 98.5-58.0 and have outrebounded teams 52.5-31.5.  Ohio Christian has made 51.6 percent of its field goals and but have converted just 9-19 free throws.  Kara Zwick leasd the team with a 16.0 points per game average with eight rebounds and two assists.  Asia Woodson puts in 15.5 points per game and is 4-5 on three-point tries.  Shelby Roe and Sarah Bechtel scores 14.5 and 10.5 points per game respectively and each has made six three-point baskets.  Maritza Will scores nine points per game and grabs 8.5 rebounds per outing.

Roberts Wesleyan is playing in the season opener this weekend and finished 21-14 in 2011-12. Roberts Wesleyan outscored teams 64.4-55.4 last season and outrebounded teams 45.9-40.6.  They limited teams to 33.4 percent shooting from the field.  Marissa Bunce returns after scoring 11.6 points per game last season and she got to 3.6 rebounds.  Also back for another year is Marissa Sell with a 6.8 points per game average and she took down 5.8 rebounds last year.

DEFENDER NOTES…Dordt College is 0-3 this season and has been outscored 67-62.3 this season.  The Defenders have been outrebounded 38.7-33.3 and has forced opponents into 22.7 turnovers per game while committing 21 of their own.  Dordt converts 39.3 percent of its field goals and opponents are making 43.1 percent. 

Kara Van Dyke leads the team with a 14.7 points per game average to go with 9.7 rebounds per contest and she makes 50 percent of her field goals.  Brianna Spronk has scored 14 points per game  and snags 4.0 rebounds.  Jasmin Schelhaas has scored 7.3 points per game in her first three collegiate contests and Elise Maresh is scoring seven points and getting seven rebounds. 

NEXT… Thursday, November 15 Roberts Wesleyan will face Daemen College in its next play while Ohio Christian  is scheduled to play Southeastern University in Philadelphia that same day.  Moody Bible has Presentation Colelege on its schedule for a Thursday, November 15 game.

Dordt College returns home to face AIB on Wednesday, November 14 at 6:00.

LAST TIME…Moody Bible lost to Trinity International last weekend by an 86-51 margin.  Moody made 32 percent of its field goals and got beat on the boards 45-39.  Steph Homontowski scored 14 points and had two assists.  Emily Bloodworth scored ten points and had five rebounds and Jenna Bloodworth had seven points and ten rebounds.

Ohio Christian beat Lancaster 93-59 on Saturday, November 3.  Asia Woodson scored 22 points and had seven rebounds.  Shelby Roe scored 17 and made four three-point baskets with five rebounds and three assists.  Kim Craycraft completed the double-digit scoring with 11 points.

As earlier noted this is the season opener for Roberts Wesleyan.

Dordt lost to Grand View 64-62 on Tuesday night in Sioux Center.  Van Dyke had 15 points and 12 rebounds and Spronk got 16 points.  Schelhaas scored ten in 27 minutes of play.  Grand View outrebounded Dordt 46-34 and committed 23 turnovers to 16 for the Defenders.  Dordt was limited to 35 percent field goals and Grand View made 41.8 percent of its field goals.
