(Tuesday, October 23) Patrick Knoblauch, a senior at Sauk Centre High School (Minnesota), has announced his intention to attend Dordt College and join the Defender basketball program.

Knoblauch has averaged 14 points, 3.5 assists, 1.9 steals and 2.7 rebounds per game as a two-year starter.  He earned all-conference honors as both a sophomore and junior and was named to the Sauk Valley all-area team and took St. Cloud Times all-area honorable mention.  Knoblauch is a 6-3 guard.

"We are very pleased Patrick will be joining our program as he is the type of player who has the ability to make an immediate impact on our program," said Dordt College head coach Ross Douma.  "He is a consistent player who excels on both ends of the floor and is poised for an outstanding senior season.  Patrick has been well coached both at Sauk Centre high school by Mike Ellens and also through the Minnesota Comets AAU program under the direction of Josh Hanson.  In addition to an outstanding player, Patrick is a great fit for Dordt College as he is intentional about improving all facets of his life."

Patrick is the son of Mark and Joyce Knoblauch of Sauk Centre, Minnesota.  He plans to study education at Dordt College.
