2017…played in 38 matches…averaged 1.71 digs per set with 20 service aces.

Before Dordt…attended Western Christian High School (Iowa)…was a first-team all-Lakes Conference honoree in 2016…averaged 3.3 digs per set and had a 91 percent success rate from the service area…recorded 53 service aces…served for a 96 percent success rate in 2015 and had 36 aces…had a .38 dig average as a junior.

Before Dordt…claimed first team all-Metro and all-MAC honors while playing for Pleasant Valley (Iowa)…averaged 3.66 digs per set and was a member of the MAC all-Academic Team.

4 Sophie Howerzyl 5-4 Defensive Specialist FR Pella, Iowa

Before Dordt…. attended Pella Christian (Iowa) High School…was a defensive specialist that averaged 3.64 digs per set as a senior and totaled 368 digs during the 2017 season…had a career average of 3.49 digs per set and totaled 958 digs in three seasons…helped the Eagles advance to the regional title match twice…was named honorable mention all-conference in 2017.

5 Avery Van Kley 5-5 Defensive Specialist FR Sioux Center, Iowa

Before Dordt…. graduated from Western Christian (Iowa) where she was a defensive specialist that averaged 2.21 digs per set…she had a .922 serving efficiency with 25 service aces during the 2017 season…earned all-conference honorable mention in 2017 and was part of two state championship teams in 2015 and 2016 and a runner-up finish in 2017.

7 Jaclyn Wybenga 5-6 Defensive Specialist FR Burley, Idaho

Before Dordt…competed for Oakley High School (Idaho)…was named a Magic Valley All-Star in volleyball and was an all-conference selection in volleyball…was a part of volleyball district champions in 2015 and 2018 and a 2018 basketball state championship.

8 Annetta de Jong 5-4 Defensive Specialist FR Nampa, Idaho

Before Dordt…. graduated from Nampa Christian (Idaho) High School….was a defensive specialist and averaged seven digs per set her senior year and three ace serves per set…she was a four-time district champion as well as a four-time state-qualifier and a state champion in 2016 and 2017…she earned all-state honors as a junior and senior as well as all-conference honors those same years.

9 Madi Beck 5-9 Opposite Hitter FR Waconia, Minnesota

Before Dordt…. played at Mayer Lutheran (Minnesota) where she averaged over 10 kills per match and 10 digs per match during her senior season…was a four-year starter and earned all-conference honors all four years…was selected to the All-State Tournament Team as a junior and senior…was part of a four- time conference champion team as well as playing key roles in a 2016 and 2017 state championship in Minnesota's Class A volleyball.

10 Lydia Smits 5-11 Outside Hitter SO Crete, Illinois

Before Dordt…. graduated from Heritage Christian High School (Illinois)…competed for Trinity Christian College (Illinois) in 2017…averaged 2.34 kills per set for a total of 304 kills on the season during her freshmen year at Trinity Christian…totaled 41 blocks and 20 aces…was a two time state champion for volleyball and once for basketball at Heritage Christian…was awarded conference MVP her junior and senior year of high school volleyball.

11 Julia Lindbergh 6-1 Outside Hitter, Opposite Hitter SR Margate, Florida

2017… was a second-team all-GPAC selection and claimed NAIA Daktronics/Scholar-Athlete accolades…played in all 38 matches with 2.16 kills…has averaged 1.93 kills per set during her career…had a season high 15 kills against Morningside on September 6.

2016…played in 36 matches and had a 2.09 kills per set average with a .169 kill efficiency…had 25 service aces while playing in 130 sets…had a season high 15 kills against MidAmerica Nazarene on September 2…recorded six ace serves against Montana State-Northern on September 2.

2015…played in 26 matches and 80 matches…averaged 1.31 kills per set.

Before Dordt…played for Coral Springs Christian Academy (Florida)…was a first team all-county pick as a senior after claiming second team honors in 2013…averaged 15.5 kills, 7.1 digs, 2.2 blocks and 1.3 ace serves while claiming Region IV Player of the Year honors in 2014…served as her team captain for two seasons.

2017…was a GPAC first-team honoree and also claimed first-team NAIA All-American honors…was named to the NAIA  National Tournament honor team and claimed NAIA Daktronics/Scholar-Athlete accolades…averaged a team high 4.44 kills per set with a .281 kill efficiency…got to 2.11 digs per outing and led the team with 46 service aces…went over the 1,000 career kills mark and enters the 2018 season with 1,348 kills…had a season high 25 kills against Doane on November 4.

2016…was a GPAC first-team honoree while also claiming third-team NAIA All-American accolades…was named to the NAIA National All-Tournament team…was an AVCA all-region first-team pick…recorded 2.89 kills per set with a .224 kill efficiency…had a team high 60 service aces…had a season high 19 kills against Hastings in National Championship match…had five ace serves against Dakota State on August 26.

2015…played in 32 matches and 117 sets…averaged 2.63 kills per set with a kill efficiency of .218…claimed all-GPAC first-team honors and all-AVCA second-team accolades…recorded 20 or more kills on two occasions…had a season high 21 kills against Davenport on August 29…twice had a kill efficiency of .714 in matches.

Before Dordt…earned 2014 first team all-state honors while playing for Western Christian and helping the Wolfpack to a Class 2A state runner-up finish…averaged 3.34 kills per set with a .415 kill efficiency… had 46 ace serves and averaged 1.7 digs per set…totaled 298 kills as a junior with a .419 kill efficiency and earned second team all-state honors…was a first team all-conference and all-district pick as a junior…had 215 kills as a sophomore.

2017… was a GPAC first-team honoree and also claimed first-team NAIA All-American honors…claimed NAIA Daktronics/Scholar-Athlete accolades…averaged 10.67 assists per set with 1.1 kills and 2.33 digs…had 37 ace serves…enters the season with 4,302 assists and 104 aces…is closing in on 1000 digs with 976…has averaged 10.76 assists per set during her career and 2.44 digs…put up a season high 56 assists against Briar Cliff on September 27…got to a season high 19 digs twice against Hastings on November 11 and Midland on October 28…had five service aces against Northwestern on November 8.

2016…was a GPAC first-team honoree while also claiming second-team NAIA All-American accolades…was named to the NAIA National All-Tournament team… was an AVCA all-region first-team pick…put up 10.77 assists per set with nearly a kill per set…recorded 35 service aces…had a season high 62 assists against MidAmerica Nazarene on September 2…recorded eight kills against Columbia on December 2…had a season high 16 digs in a match with Hastings on November 5 and Bellevue on August 26.

2015…played in 117 sets and 32 matches…put up 10.7 assists per set with 29 service aces…averaged 2.41 digs per set…was an all-GPAC and all-AVCA first-team honoree…had a season high 63 assists against Rocky Mountain on September 5.

Before Dordt…earned first team all-state honors for the fourth straight year in 2014 and helped Western to its fourth straight state runner-up finish…averaged 9.5 assists per set in 2014 and 10.1 in 2013…had 62 ace serves in 2014 and 60 in 2013…earned all-tournament accolades four straight years at the Iowa High School State Tournament….Western was 181-13 in the four seasons Gesink set.

14 Ally Krommendyk 6-2 Middle Blocker JR Belle Plain, Minnesota

2017…earned all-GPAC honorable mention honors…played in 38 matches and averaged 1.97 kills per set and had a team high 1.1 blocks per outing…had a season high 13 kills against Doane on October 14…recorded nine blocks twice against Missouri Baptist on November 30 and Westmont on August 17.

2016…played in six varsity matches…played in five junior varsity matches with a 2.42 kills per set average and had a .370 kill efficiency…averaged 1.58 blocks per set.

Before Dordt…went to Southwest Christian High School (Minnesota)…recorded 327 kills on 635 attempts, 34 digs, and 100 blocks…earned first-team all-conference honors as a junior and senior while earning all-state honors in 2015…was the starting middle hitter as a sophomore for the Stars 2013 State Championship team.

15 Jessi De Jager 6-1 Middle Blocker, Opposite Hitter FR Hull, Iowa

Before Dordt…graduated from Western Christian (Iowa)…averaged 2.79 kills and .63 blocks per set with a kill efficiency of .306 during her senior season…helped the Wolfpack to a 37-9 record here senior year in 2017 and was part of 2A State Championship teams in both 2015 and 2016…was named first-team all-conference and was a member of the Iowa High School State Tournament Class 2A All-Tournament team.

16 Leah Kamp 5-11 Middle Blocker SR Tinley Park, Illinois

2017…was a GPAC second-team honoree and was named to the NAIA  National Tournament honor team…averaged 2.76 kills per set and averaged just under a block per outing…had a .296 kill efficiency…had a season high 20 kills against Lindsey Wilson on December 2.

2016…played in 11 varsity matches and 16 sets…had one solo and three assisted blocks and recorded seven kills…played in eight matches with a 2.37 kills per set average…averaged nearly a block per set.

Before Dordt…attended Calvin College (Michigan) in 2015-16…graduated from Chicago Christian High School (Illinois)  and had 124 career solo blocks, 275 total career blocks, 71 aces, 236 digs and 554 kills…earned all-conference honors in both volleyball and basketball and was selected an All-American for her play in AAU volleyball. 

17 Emily Feilmeier 5-4 Defensive Specialist JR Hartington, Nebraska

2017…played in 19 junior varsity matches…averaged 2.47 digs per outing and had 19 service aces…put up an average of 3.58 assists per contest.

2016…played in 16 junior varsity matches…averaged 3.33 assists per set and had 10 ace serves…got to 1.25 digs per outing.

Before Dordt…played for Cedar Catholic High School (Nebraska)…racked up 1697 set assists, 742 digs, 298 kills, 105 services aces and 93 blocks in 2015…earned Class C All-Area Elite 8 First-Team honors along with All-State Honorable mention honors after leading her team to a MidState Conference Championship and district runner-up finish in 2015…was named to the all-conference first-team, and voted team mvp.

18 Ava Van Soelen 6-0 Outside Hitter FR Waukee, Iowa

Before Dordt… played for Des Moines Christian (Iowa)…totaled 244 kills her senior year and averaged 3.34 kills per set while totaling 21 ace serves...tallied 33 total blocks with an average of .45 blocks per set…earned unanimous all-conference honors in 2016 and 2017 and was named all-region those two years as well…earned Iowa All-State Honorable Mention in 2017 and helped her team to a 22-9 record while claiming a conference championship.

19 Paige Vos 5-10 Outside Hitter FR Ripon, California

Before Dordt…. competed for Ripon Christian (California)…totaled 365 kills and averaged 11.1 kills per match…got to 101 digs for a 3.2 per match average and totaled 28 blocks with 51 ace serves…was part of a four-time league champion team from 2014-2017…was a two-time Southern Athletic League Most Valuable Player.

20 Jelsie Dean 5-11 Middle Blocker, Outside Hitter JR Spearfish, South Dakota

2017…averaged just under a kill per set in 18 junior varsity matches.

2016…played in four matches.

Before Dordt…played for Spearfish High School (South Dakota)…finished her senior year with 122 kills, 74 digs, 68 blocks (46 solo, 22 assist) and 26 services aces…earned all-conference honorable mention honors twice…was a three-year letter winner and led her team to the Black Hills Conference Championship in both 2014 and 2015 and finished third in the 2015 Class A South Dakota State Volleyball Tournament…was named to the Academic All-State team in 2015.

21 Sydney Van Hulzen 6-0 Middle Blocker FR Edgerton, Minnesota

Before Dordt…. graduated from Southwest Minnesota Christian…averaged seven kills per game and six blocks per game during the 2017 season…as a junior and senior, Sydney was named to the All-Conference team and helped the Eagles to consecutive conference runner-up finishes.

22 Anneka Bakker 5-9 Middle Blocker FR Bellflower, California

Before Dordt…. played for Valley Christian (California)…played all three hitter positions during her career and had a .246 kill efficiency last season and was the second leading blocker on her team…helped her team to an Olympic League Championship in 2016 and was part of a pair of CIF second-round qualifying teams.

24 Robyn Underwood 5-8 Setter SR Santa Clarita, California

2017…played in 27 matches…had 16 service aces…recorded a season high three aces against Montana Tech on September 2.

2016…played in 11 matches…averaged 1.35 assists per set and had four service aces.

2015…played in six matches.

Before Dordt…claimed all-Foothill League honors playing for Saugus High School (California)…was a three-year starter and was her teams captain and claimed scholar-athlete honors.

25 Ana Thacker 5-7 Opposite Hitter, Setter FR Lincoln, Nebraska

Before Dordt…. competed for Lincoln East (Nebraska) High School…also played for Volleyball Club Nebraska and earned a National Championship in 2016 playing in the Premier Division…was part of a high school team that was a four time district runner-up…in 2017 she earned Heartland Athletic  All-Conference honors and was accorded the Myron Oehlerking Leadership Award.

27 Kayla Moats 5-10 Opposite Hitter, Setter FR Knoxville, Iowa

Before Dordt…. had per set averages of 2.14 kills, 2.62 assists, 1.44 digs and .47 blocks during her senior season at Knoxville (Iowa)…had a kill efficiency of .226 and totaled 218 kills and had a serve efficiency of .857 with  48 aces…earned first-team all-conference honors in 2017 and second-team all-conference in 2016…took academic all-conference honors in 2016 and 2017.

28 Olivia Veldkamp 5-6 Setter FR Edgerton, Minnesota

Before Dordt….competed for Southwest Minnesota Christian…had 356 assists in 2017 and had 30 service aces while earning all-conference honors.

29 Haley Delperdang 6-1 Middle Blocker, Opposite Hitter SO Remsen, Iowa

2017…played in 26 matches and averaged just under a kill per set…had a season high seven kills against Mount Marty on September 19.

Before Dordt… played at Remsen-St. Mary’s High School (Iowa)…finished her senior season with 223 kills, a .290 kill efficiency, and 2.79 kills per set…had 26 aces, with a .908 serve efficiency, along with 40 block assists and 29 solo blocks…finished her career with 612 kills, 242 blocks, and 90 service aces…earned a first-team all-conference nod in 2016 and CYO all-tournament teams honors during her final two seasons.

30 Sarah De Haan 6-3 Middle Blocker, Opposite Hitter SO Hollandale, Minnesota

2017…played in 13 junior varsity matches and averaged 1.46 kills per set and just under a block per set…played in 14 varsity matches and had six kills.

Before Dordt… graduated from Albert Lea High School (Minnesota)…posted a .422 kill efficiency and averaged 1.1 blocks per set while claiming all-conference honors in 2015 and 2016…earned Minnesota Academic All-State Honors in 2016…was on the Big 9 Conference Academic Honor Roll all four years of high school…helped her club volleyball team to a third place finish in the Premier 17s division at the 2016 nationals. 

31 Faith Rossell 5-3 Defensive Specialist SO Griswold, Iowa

2017…played in 20 junior varsity matches and had eight service aces.

Before Dordt… played for Griswold High School (Iowa) where she earned academic all-conference and academic all-state honors…was an honorable mention all-conference pick and earned two varsity letters in both volleyball and softball…averaged 6.34 assists and 2.13 digs per outing and had 43 ace serves. 

Karsyn Winterfeld 5-9 Outside Hitter SO Sioux Center, Iowa

Before Dordt…. graduated from Western Christian (Iowa) and played for and attended Northwestern College (Iowa) in 2017…will have three seasons of volleyball eligibility remaining after sitting out the 2018 volleyball season per Great Plains Athletic Conference transfer rules…averaged 3.4 kills per set to help Western Christian (Iowa) to a 2016 Class 2A state title…got to 3.01 digs per contest and had a team high 101 ace serves…was a first-team all-state selection at the conclusion of the season…totaled 87 ace serves and 2.61 digs per set…earned all-GPAC honorable mention honors at the conclusion of the season.
