5 Hayden Heimensen 5-8 Guard FR Rock Rapids, Iowa

Before Dordt... standout four-year career playing for Central Lyon High School...earned all-state honors two years...4x all-conference selection, 3x 1st team honors...averaged 20.3 points, 6.7 rebounds and 2.4 assists in leading her team to a 20-3 record as a senior...scored over 1,000 career points during her four-year career.

12 Bailey Sievers 5-7 Guard FR Albert City, Iowa

Before Dordt... standout in multiple sports for Newell-Fonda High School...earned second team all-state honors in leading the Mustangs to their third straight 1A state championship in 2021...averaged 13.6 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game...shot 56% from the field and over 37% from the 3pt line...2x all-conference pick...an all-state selection in softball and a state qualifier and medal winner in track and field.

13 Bailey Beckman 5-5 Guard JR Panora, Iowa

2020-21...NAIA Scholar Athlete...earned all-conference honors...started 15 games before a season-ending knee injury...ranked second on the team in scoring (12.8ppg) and in 3pters made (28)...third on the team in assists (39)...scored in double figures in 12 games, including 10 straight from Nov.7 - Dec.31...2 20-point games...matched her career high with 21 points in loss to Briar Cliff. 

2019-20…played in all 32 games for the Defenders…averaged 7.6 points per game and had a season high 21 points in a win over Dakota Wesleyan on November 13…handed out a season high five assists twice against Doane on January 2 and Morningside on November 16. 

Before Dordt…played for Panorama High School (Iowa) where she scored over 1,000 points….averaged 19.6 points per game as a senior and converted 40 three-point shots….multiple all-conference and all-district honoree…was a third-team all-state pick in 2019 and a second-team selection in 2018.

15 McKenna Klecker 5-7 Guard JR Chandler, Arizona

2020-21...NAIA Scholar Athlete...played in 18 games...made 8 3pters and shot 36% from 3pt line...averaged 1.8 points per game...scored a career-high six points (2x) vs Dakota State and Mount Marty.  

Before Dordt…attended Embry Riddle Aeronautical University (Arizona) in 2019-20…averaged 4.1 points per game for Embry Riddle with 1.5 rebounds and converted 52 percent of her field goal attempts…graduated from Seton Catholic (Arizona)  and earned honorable mention honors in 2018-19 and was a two-time All-Academic honoree…served as her team's captain in both 2017 and 2018 and is in the top-10 all-time in field goal percentage and free throw percentage.

20 Maggie Walker 5-7 Guard FR Fonda, Iowa

Before Dordt... four-year starter playing for Newell-Fonda High School...received 3rd team all-state honors when she averaged 12 points, 3.6 rebounds and two assists per game last season...part of three state championship teams and scored 1,000 career points...named to the state tournament all-tournament team...three-time all-conference and all-region. 

Academic: Biology major.

22 Mya Chmielewski 5-7 Guard SR Mayer, Minnesota

2020-21...NAIA Scholar Athlete...played in all 26 games with one start...averaged 5.3 points, 1.8 rebounds per game to go with 34 assists...scored in double figures in five games...netted season-high 14 points (2x) in wins over Grand View and Doane. 

2019-20…played in all 32 games for Dordt…averaged 5.9 points per game while converting 51.4 percent of her field goal attempts…averaged 1.7 steals per contest…scored a career high 17 points against Dakota Wesleyan on January 15 and had seven steals against Jamestown on January 22…was named NAIA Scholar-Athlete. 

2018-19…averaged 2.3 points per game while appearing in 32 games…had a season high eight points against Dakota State on November 20. 

Before Dordt… played at Mayer Lutheran (Minnesota) High School…averaged 14.5 points as a senior with 3.8 assists and 3.1 steals…scored 450 points, 168 rebounds, 100 steals and 84 assists as a junior and joined the 1,000 point club.

Before Dordt… attended Western Christian High School (Iowa)…averaged 10.0 points per game with 5.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals…earned all-Lakes Conference first-team honors…averaged 6.4 points per game in 2018-19 with 3.4 rebounds and she converted 31.4 percent of her three-point shots.

25 Ashtyn Veerbeek 6-2 Forward JR Sioux Center, Iowa

2020-21...NAIA Scholar Athlete...named 2nd team NAIA All-American...earned 1st team all-conference honors...averaged a double-double (15.4 points, 10.8 rebounds)...led team with 62 blocked shots...made a team-leading 38 3pters...scored in double figures in 20 games including in the final 11 games...14 double-doubles...poured in a career-high 33 points vs Northwestern...pulled down a career-best 23 rebounds vs Dakota Wesleyan...named GPAC Player of the Week (Feb.23) 

Before Dordt…played for the University of Nebraska two seasons… averaged 7.4 points per game with 4.3 rebounds for the Huskers in 2018-19 after averaging 6.9 points per game with 5.5 rebounds per contest as a freshman…had a decorated high school career for the Wolfpack, scoring 25.8 points per game as a senior while grabbing 14.4 rebounds and she had 86 blocked shots…converted 52.2 percent of her field goal attempts and 34.7 percent of her three-point basket attempts as senior…during the 2017 season Veerbeek scored 22.8 points per game with 11.1 rebounds and he was named the Iowa Basketball Coaches Association Class 2A Player of the Year at the conclusion of the season…was named captain of the Class 2A All-State Tournament team in 2017 and was three times named first-team all-state by the Iowa Girls Coaches Association…averaged 15.7 points and 9.3 rebounds per game as a sophomore while helping Western to a state runner-up finish and she scored 9.1 points with 6.0 rebounds as a freshman as Western advanced to the Class 2A State Tournament Semifinals…had 1,871 career points, 1,041 career rebounds, 227 blocked shots, 203 assists and 99 steals during her four seasons at Western Christian.

30 Karly Gustafson 5-11 Forward JR Ethan, South Dakota

2020-21...NAIA Scholar Athlete...earned second team all-conference...played in 21 games with eight starts...ranked fourth on the team in scoring (11.2ppg) and second in rebounding (6.6)...shot a team-best 41% from 3pt arc (14/34)...scored in double figures in 15 games, including nine of last 10 games...poured in a career-high 25 points against Doane. 

2019-20…played in 28 games…averaged 9.8 points per game and took down 6.5 rebounds per game…averaged over an assist and steal per game…converted 53 percent of her field goal attempts and was an all-GPAC honorable mention selection…had 12 games where she scored in double figures and had a season high 23 points against Northwestern on November 20 and took down 12 rebounds against Midland on February 1 and Morningside on November 16.   

Before Dordt…prepped at Ethan High School (South Dakota)…averaged over 19 points per game as a senior with eight rebounds and 3.3 assists per game in 2019 while being named the South Dakota Class B and All-Class Player of the Year…was a two-time first-team all-state selection and a two-time second-team all-state selection…played in five state tournaments where she was a part of a championship and two runner-up finishes…was named the Spirit of Su Award winner at the 2019 Class B state tournament. 

Academic: Social Work major. 

32 Faith Van Holland 5-8 Guard SO Sioux Falls, South Dakota

2020-21...played in 10 games...also played on the junior varsity. 

Before Dordt… competed for Harrisburg High School (South Dakota)…averaged seven points, three assists and five rebounds for Harrisburg and has been a part of two state runner-up teams in 2017 and 2018 and a third place finisher in 2019.   

Academic: Math / Secondary Education major. 

33 Riley Van Hulzen 5-11 Forward SR Lynden, Washington

2020-21...NAIA Scholar Athlete...played in all 26 games...averaged 2.3 points and 2.8 rebounds per game...scored season-high eight points vs Grand View...pulled down season-high six rebounds (2x).  

2019-20…played in 17 games and averaged 2.1 points per game…had six points against Briar Cliff on November 23…was named NAIA Scholar-Athlete. 

2018-19…played in 13 games and averaged 1.2 points per game…scored four points in a game three times. 

Before Dordt… graduated from Lynden Christian (Washington)…averaged 10 points per game with 7 rebounds per game as a junior before a season ending injury…averaged 5.4 points per game as a senior after coming back from injury.  

Academic: Elementary Education / Instructional Strategist / General and Middle School classroom major. 

35 Janie Schoonhoven 5-10 Forward FR Hospers, Iowa

Before Dordt... 4-year starter for Unity Christian High School (Iowa)...earned all-state honors three years, 4x all-conference selection...named the 2021 Sioux City Journal Girls Basketball Player of the Year...led the Knights to the 3A state championship as a senior where she averaged 16.4 points and 9.5 rebounds  per game...all-time leading scorer and rebounder at Unity Christian...helped lead the Knights to a pair of state tournaments and four straight conference titles. 

Academic: Undeclared major.

Bethany Vasecka 5-11 Guard SO Tea, South Dakota

will miss the 2021-22 season with injury. 

Before Dordt... averaged eight points and 4.6 rebounds per game in an abbreviated season playing for the University of Wisconsin – River Falls...played for the New Prague High School where she earned all-conference honors. 

Academic: HHP – Exercise Science major. 

Jordyn Winterfeld 5-6 Guard SR Sioux Center, Iowa

Will miss the 2021-22 season with injury. 

2020-21...NAIA Scholar Athlete...played in all 26 games with 24 starts...averaged 3.5 points and 2.4 rebounds per game...led team with 70 assists...scored in double figures (10pts) vs Mount Marty...dished out a season-high six assists vs Mount Marty. 

2019-20…scored 6.3 points per game while playing 32 games for the Defenders…averaged 3.0 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game…had a career high 17 points against Dakota Wesleyan on February 26 and eight rebounds against Hastings on December 14…handed out five assists against Concordia on February 29 and Hastings on December 14…was named NAIA Scholar-Athlete. 

2018-19…averaged 5.1 points per game in 32 games played…scored in double figures five times and had a season high 15 points against IU Northwest on March 6 at the NAIA National Tournament….had season bests of nine rebounds against Hastings on February 20, five assists against Friends on November 3 and five steals against Doane on February 2. 

Before Dordt… played for Sioux Center High School (Iowa)…averaged 12.7 points per game with nearly five assists per game…missed six games with a hand injury...averaged 11.0 points per game as a junior while handing out three assists per game…helped Sioux Center to a pair of state runner-up finishes in 2017 and 2018…was a three-time first-team all-conference selection.
