A December 2015 Graduate of NAIA school Clarke University, Coach Havens was a captain and starter for the Crusaders. During his senior year he ranked in the top 10 in the MCC conference in three-point field goal percentage. Havens was a NAIA scholar athlete and Academic All-Conference honoree.
Tanner Havens returns for his second season with the women’s basketball program at Dordt. Coach Havens is responsible for coaching the Junior Varsity Program, assisting in recruiting efforts, aiding in development of point guards and wings, as well as assisting in the execution of the strength and conditioning program.
Havens started his Coaching career at Darlington High School (Wisconsin), where he was a 9th grade boys coach during his sophomore year of college. During the 2015-2016 year, he was an assistant at Clarke University while he finished his student teaching. During his time with Clarke he assisted in developing a pre-season conditioning program for the team, assisted the head coach in daily practice planning, as well as working primarily with the development of the Crusaders post players. In addition to his experience at Clarke, Havens has assisted in a number of camps throughout the Midwest and has coached all levels ranging from 2nd grade to high school.
