The women's basketball program at Dordt College strives to pursue excellence in all areas of life. In order to fully develop as both basketball players and people, we must see our opportunity to play as a both a privilege and gift from God. We must seek to glorify him in all we do both on and off the court. We must strive to be ambassadors of Dordt's tradition and values as a faith-based institution. Through the game of basketball we can learn to be servants, leaders, and witnesses to the Gospel of Christ.
Coach DeWitt-Severson began her playing career at Drake University. She was a member of the Drake 2007 NCAA tournament team and 2008 Missouri Valley Conference Championship team. Following her time at Drake, she transferred to the University of Northwestern St. Paul, where she was a three-year All-Conference player, 2010 UMAC player of the year, and two-time All-American.
