Has served as a head coach at MOC FV since 2021 after being an assistant coach in 2019 and 2020.  Smith was also an assistant coach with Northwestern College (Iowa) from 2013-2016 and started her head coaching career at Garner-Hayfield (Iowa) High School from 2003-05 and again in 2010.

Playing Experience

Graduated from Forest City (Iowa) High School where she played from 1993-97 and won over 100 games.  Went on to earn all-conference honors three times for Northwestern College (Iowa) and was named the GPAC Player and Pitcher of the Year in 2000 along with earning Honorable Mention All-American honors from the NAIA.  Smith is still in the top-five in several pitching record categories at Northwestern.

Why I coach at Dordt

I love that I get to focus on working with the pitchers at Dordt. My favorite part of coaching is building relationships and getting to know the girls other than just who they are as softball players. I enjoy workign them on the mental side of pitching and I hope they understand how those skills apply to all areas of their lives.

B.A. Elementary Education and Special Education from Northwestern College (Iowa) 2001

Married to Cam who is the Middle School Principal at MOC-FV.  Four children: Carlin, Reed, Natalie and Tenley.
