Before Dordt… primarily served as a midfielder for Western Christian (Iowa) and scored  five goals and four assists…exhibited versatility playing 215 minutes as a goalkeeper for the Wolfpack, turning away 30 shots…named to the all-conference team  in 2012.

Before Dordt… served as one of the team captains Central Wisconsin Christian…was a Wisconsin Flyway All-Conference honorable mention…scored 12 career goals and 23 career assists…netted seven goals and eleven assists as a senior…helped the Crusaders to regional championships in 2011, 2012 and 2013 and a sectional championship and state qualification in 2011.

Before Dordt…graduated Coon Rapids High School (Minnesota) and was a three year varsity player…netted 23 careeer goals and 16 assists with 16 goals and 11 assists coming during his senior campaign…helped his team to a second place finish in their section in 2012 and was named to the Minnesota All-State Team, All-Metro and  NWSC All-Conference First Team while also serving as team captain…Coon Rapids named Hachaba their team MVP and the Best Offensive Player and he received an Outstanding Player award at the Minnesota State High School Soccer League Senior Classic…played two years of club soccer for the Coon Rapids Soccer Club and helped his team to the Eau Claire United Tournament Championship in 2011 and the MYSA State quarterfinals in 2011…netted 19 goals and assisted on 13 others in this two years with the program.

Before Dordt…graduated Sioux Falls Christian High School (South Dakota) and played club soccer for the Dakota Alliance Soccer Club…helped the Chargers to a 62-3-1 record during his high school years and netted 10 goals and 15 assists in his senior campaign…was named First Team All-State in both 2011 and 2012 and was an honorable mention in 2010…was named to the Elite 11 in 2012 and was the team MVP and a First Team All-NCSAA selection in 2011…helped the Chargers to South Dakota State Championship titles in 2011 and 2012 and the Chargers were the state runner-up in 2009…helped Dakota Alliance Soccer Club teams to six State Cup Championships and Van Holland served as team captain for seven of his twelve years.
