Coaching Experience

Nate van Niejenhuis was announced as head coach for the Dordt Blades on April 24, 2017 marking the start of van Niejenhuis’s second stint as coach of the program. 

Van Niejenhuis was head coach from 2005-09 when the Blades enjoyed a 65-43 record with van Niejenhuis behind the bench.  He was named the American Collegiate Hockey Association Division III Pacific Region Coach of the Year and National Coach of the Year at the conclusion of the 2008-09 season.  Two of his teams earned berths at the ACHA Division III National Hockey Tournament and a fifth place finish at the tournament in 2009.
