The grind has been worth it: after Wagner was accepted to podiatry school at Des Moines University, the dean mentioned how much they value athletes. “He said they really like athletes because they are experts in time management,” he says. “So that was good to hear; all those hours running around were worth it.”

“It seems like, if you go to a bigger school, you have to pick your one thing,” says Georgia Lodewyk. “But, since Dordt is a small university, I’ve been able to be involved in many different things.”

Jonah Hofmeyer cultivated his passion for filmmaking through the Short Film Production course, where he directed the award-winning film "The Woodsman." Beyond the classroom, Hofmeyer has amped up his video production skills through work with the Gaming Guild and Dordt Media Network.

“I had known for a long time that I loved working with people and that I loved being the hands and feet of Jesus,” she says. “Social work appealed to me. I wasn’t sure where to look, so I Googled ‘Christian college social work program.’” Dordt was in the search results.
