FAVORITE SPOT ON CAMPUS

The B.J. Haan Auditorium - all of the best events happen there (chapel, talent shows, guest speakers, etc.)

FAVORITE CLASS

Astronomy. It was a class outside my major, and it was absolutely fascinating!

COOL THINGS I DID AT DORDT

The coolest thing I did at Dordt was start the Dordt College Republicans. We had the opportunity to take 3 club trips to Washington, D.C., attend 2 presidential debates, and host 9 presidential candidates on campus. Hundreds of students were involved in the political process who might not have been without the club.

OBSTACLES I'VE OVERCOME

It was challenging to balance all of my extracurricular commitments. Starting a club, leading the student government, and being a student-athlete kept me pretty busy.

WHO I WAS WHEN I CAME TO DORDT

I was ambitious and looking to get involved and make a difference on campus. I was mostly looking forward to being on the cross country and track teams, but I discovered tons of different ways to get involved on campus.

HOW DORDT IMPACTED ME

I've developed new perspectives on the problems facing the world and how Christians should respond to them. I also realized the importance of building quality relationships and having great friends.

WHAT'S NEXT FOR ME

I’ll be working at a private equity firm that focuses on investments in commercial real estate. I've also thought about going into politics, if an opportunity presents itself and the timing is right.

WHAT I WOULD TELL PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS

Do something new that makes yourself uncomfortable as often as you can. You'll discover so much about yourself and your abilities if you are willing to get out of your comfort zone.

HOW DORDT HELPED ME DO MORE

I took on more responsibilities than I ever thought I could. Learning how to budget my time so that I could be an effective leader in multiple areas was what helped me Do More.
