Journalism at Dordt

Be challenged. Be changed.

You can put this on record, “our journalism program is top of the charts.”

Journalism is a timeless career, it serves the public by way of communicating news truthfully and accurately. Dordt's journalism program prepares you for the vigorous world of media from a Christian perspective. Enter the digital frontier, become an expert on digital news reporting and online media relations. Make a difference by caring for the story behind the headline. Train your mind to spot the best story.

Take out your notepads and pens (or maybe your laptop), as your classwork requires lots of critical writing and deadlines. These communication courses focus on how to tell good stories and appreciate and understand the art of the career. You'll learn journalism from Lee Pitts, Dordt’s journalism professor, who has 15 years of journalism experience, including 7 months as a reporter in the Iraq War and 10 years covering politics in Washington, D.C.
