Accounting at Dordt
Be challenged. Be changed.
Do you like crunching numbers, business, and problem-solving, and critical thinking? Then the accounting program might be a good fit for you.
As an accounting major, you’ll not only focus on numbers, you’ll get a good foundation in general business as well. Learn more about the programs used in the industry, analyzing balance sheets, business finance, financial planning, auditing, and more.
Accounting majors at Dordt will immediately be engaged in all facets of accounting and finance. Students will be exposed to real-life accounting both in and out of the classroom to solidify their foundational knowledge. With this knowledge, Dordt accounting students have had numerous opportunities in both public and private accounting across the globe.
As an accounting major you'll take courses in financial and managerial accounting, business law, corporate finance, and intermediate and advanced accounting.
While you'll get foundational business courses as well, some students choose to double major in Accounting and Business Administration. Others may also pair an accounting major with computer science or another program.
Students are also encouraged to pursue internships during their time at Dordt. The Accounting Department and Career Development Center are happy to partner with students as they search and apply for internships.
If you're looking for a Christian education, and want to become a C.P.A., this is the program for you.
