I feel honored that God has called me to the profession of social work. I am humbled to walk alongside people through their hurt, sorrow, and brokenness. I love that the profession of social work provides such a wide variety of opportunities to be the hands and feet of Jesus. I have worked in hospice, hospitals, schools, adoption, foster care, crisis intervention, and private practice.

I received my BSW from Dordt University and an MSW from the University of Califonia, Los Angeles (UCLA). I am licensed in California and Iowa. I teach Introduction to Social Work, Family System and Practice, and Human Behavior and the Social Environment, Practice Methods with Communities and Organizations in the BSW program and Crisis Intervention in the MSW and MPA programs. I also serve as the BSW Program Director.

I am married to Steve and have four wonderful children, Kyla, Lindsey, Madison, and Carter. I enjoy reading, traveling, and time with family and friends.
