Spiritual Development, Worship, & Ministry

As a college in the Reformed Christian tradition, we believe that all of life is spiritual, including how we teach, interact with colleagues, and advise students. Students, faculty, and staff are strongly encouraged to come together in a mid-week chapel service to worship God and to reflect together as a Christian community. Other campus workshop opportunities include a weekly Praise and Worship service, a bi-weekly GIFT service, and a bi-weekly Wellspring service that offers a quiet place of communal rest and reflection.
Technology

Dordt College has up-to-date technology, including campus-wide wireless internet access. Dordt faculty members are given fully-supported laptops that include Microsoft Office 2007, Internet Explorer, and a range of other software programs. Dordt also supports 200 computers in labs and stations across campus offering an 7:1 ratio of students to lab computers; 97 percent of students bring their own computers. The library provides a large assortment of peripherals for on-site use or check-out, including digital cameras and networked scanners. For more information, visit our Computer Services pages.
Recreation & Relaxation

Dordt's Recreation Center is a state-of-the-art facility that includes two weight rooms; a fitness room; three racquetball courts; and an indoor track surrounding flexible-use courts for basketball, volleyball, and tennis. Dordt employees have free family membership benefits. The Campus Center has a coffee shop and a game room with a four-lane bowling alley, pool and foosball tables, and numerous board games available for check-out. Dordt's campus is adjacent to the city bike trail miles west to a recreation area.
Cultural Opportunities

Dordt supports ten music ensembles including choirs, bands, and orchestral groups. Visual art is also very important at Dordt, as evidenced by the art works displayed in every public space and in two galleries. Our award-winning theatre arts program offers two main-stage shows and a number of black-box and student productions each year. Dordt's annual Prairie Grass 48-hour Film Challenge offers a public screening of local production and acting talent in this popular contest. Dordt's campus is also home to the Northwest Iowa Symphony Orchestra and to the International Association for the Promotion of Christian Higher Education, which networks Christian faculty from 70 countries around the world.
Athletics

Dordt has fourteen intercollegiate athletic teams and three club sports. Being an athlete is one way students can use the talents God has given them, and we offer many opportunities for students to put those talents to use. For more information, click here.
