Agriculture (two positions)

Dordt College is currently seeking to fill two positions in our Agriculture Department beginning August 2015. Teaching responsibilities for these positions include undergraduate courses in agriculture, plant science, agri-business, and natural resource stewardship or a combination of these courses. In addition to teaching, this position would also include participation as a full team member in department and college administrative tasks (including curriculum development and review, assessment, development of new initiatives, student recruiting and advising, and committee assignments). Qualifications for these positions include a masterís degree with significant teaching experience. An earned doctoral degree is preferred.

Communication - Journalism/New Media

The Communication Department at Dordt College seeks a dynamic classroom teacher with a record of demonstrated excellence in communications professional work to fill a full-time faculty appointment beginning August 2015. Primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses in communication, journalism, new media, and related subjects; providing leadership for our multi-platform student newspaper, The Diamond; connecting students with communication internships and co-curricular placements; assisting the Communication department in revising and developing its programs to include expanded focus on journalism and new media.

A Masterís degree in communication or related field required, as well as a record of professional work in communication. A Ph.D. is preferred. A commitment to teaching from the perspective of the Reformed faith is essential.

Engineering and Physics

Dordt College is currently seeking applicants to fill a possible position in our Engineering and Physics Departments beginning August 2015. Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate courses in both engineering and physics. The departments seek candidates with qualifications and experience in mechanical, electrical, biomedical, chemical or other related engineering disciplines, along with the ability to teach undergraduate physics. A masterís degree in engineering or physics with significant teaching or industry experience is required. A Ph.D. is preferred.

Mathematics/Statistics

The Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science Department at Dordt College is seeking a faculty member for a two-year temporary position teaching undergraduate courses in mathematics, statistics, and/or related sub-disciplines beginning August 2015. An earned masterís or doctoral degree in mathematics, statistics or applied mathematics is required.

The Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science department at Dordt College has a history of preparing students for graduate school, industry and K-12 education. This preparation is infused with an unashamedly Reformed Christian worldview, in order to prepare students to be global citizens in Godís service. We are looking for an enthusiastic, open-minded team player who is interested in working with a growing set of mathematically- and statistically- minded students. In particular, candidates should be willing to consider new ways of teaching and working with students and modifications to traditional course content to align with 21st century needs. Nursing Department Chair

Dordt College is currently seeking a nurse to serve as program director, lead the departmentís accreditation activities, and teach and advise students beginning August 2015. Preference will be given to candidates that are able to teach a range of courses in Dordtís BSN completion program. In addition to teaching, the faculty member would serve as chair for the nursing department, including faculty development, student admission and progression oversight, and completion of accreditation requirements. Ability to teach effectively in light of a Reformed perspective is essential. Preference will be given to candidates with a Ph.D. in nursing, an Ed.D. or D.N.P. A M.S.N. with significant teaching experience considered.
