Accounting

The Dordt College Business Administration Department is accepting applications for a full-time faculty member to teach introductory and advanced undergraduate accounting courses. The ability to communicate with passion and illustrate accounting course content from a Reformed Christian perspective is critical. An interest and ability to also teach courses related to business or other area of expertise is preferred. A Ph.D. in accounting or another business field is preferred. A master’s degree and CPA certification with significant professional experience are minimal requirements.

Agriculture (1-Year Position)

Dordt College is currently seeking a faculty member to teach undergraduate courses in agriculture and plant science during the 2012-2013 academic year. This faculty member will serve as a replacement for a full-time faculty member who will be taking a sabbatical. In addition to teaching, this position would also include participation as a full team member in department and college administrative tasks (including curriculum development and review, assessment, development of new initiatives, student recruiting and advising, and committee assignments). Assistant Football Coach (Defensive Coordinator)/HHP Dept. Instructor/Strength & Conditioning Coach
Dordt College is currently seeking an individual to assume the position of Assistant Football Coach (D-Coordinator)at Dordt College. This is a full-time position which will also include instructional duties within the Health and Human Performance (HHP) Department, and functioning as the strength and conditioning coach for all sports.
Dordt College is considered NAIA Division II and is a part of the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) offering eight mens and eight womens sports; plus two club sports—men’s ice hockey and men’s lacrosse.
Applicants for this position should possess a Bachelor of Arts degree and 3 or more years of coaching experience. A master’s degree and teaching experience at the high school or college level is preferred. Strong knowledge of the game of football and successful coaching and recruiting experience at the high school or college level are desired. In addition to coaching responsibilities, this position will likely include other teaching and/or administrative duties.

Biology

Technical Director/Technical Theatre Instructor
Dordt College is seeking to fill the full-time position of Technical Director/Technical Theatre Instructor. Primary responsibilities include organizing and supervising the construction, mounting and striking of theatre productions and teaching some courses in technical theatre.
More specific duties include lighting, sound and scenic design and constructing props for the theatre department, assisting with lighting, audio, and visual equipment support, campus-wide scheduling, supervising workstudy students and training students to assist with constructing stage scenery and props, hanging lights, and engineering sound.
Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Theatre or compatible experience. A master’s degree is preferred. Candidates should possess a commitment to a reformed, biblical perspective as displayed in a lifestyle that is compatible with the mission of Dordt College. We are looking for someone with strong organizational skills and the ability to work with multiple demands simultaneously. As supervising students is a major part of this job, candidates must have strong managerial skills and experience. Good construction skills are required, and the ability to read and generate drawings and blueprints is required. Candidates should have strong communication and computer skills, including knowledge of design software. Candidates should have the ability to work flexible hours during productions, which will include some evenings and weekends. The anticipated start date is July 2012.
