Agriculture

Dordt College is currently seeking a faculty member to teach undergraduate courses in agriculture and plant science beginning August 2015. In addition to teaching, this position would also include participation as a full team member in department and college administrative tasks (including curriculum development and review, assessment, development of new initiatives, student recruiting and advising, and committee assignments). Qualifications for this position include a masterís degree with significant teaching experience. An earned doctoral degree is preferred.

Fall 2014 Adjunct - Chemistry Lab Instructor

The Chemistry Department at Dordt College seeks an adjunct faculty member to teach the laboratory sections of General Chemistry (CHEM 101) and Principles of Chemistry (CHEM 111) during the Fall 2014 semester. These are entry-level chemistry courses for students in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Studies, Agriculture, and several health professions.

Candidates should have a desire to teach college freshmen, have excellent communication skills, have the ability to supervise undergraduate teaching assistants, and have a working knowledge of the topics and techniques covered by the laboratory courses. There will be multiple sections of the lab offered; each section meets for 3 hours per week for 15 weeks beginning August 26. A Bachelorís degree with significant relevant work experience is required; a Masterís degree in chemistry, science education, or a related area is preferred. Preference will be given to those with college teaching experience.

Psychology

Dordt College is currently seeking a Psychology faculty member to teach introductory and advanced undergraduate courses in psychology beginning January 2015 (an August 2015 start date may be considered). Preference will be given to candidates that are able to teach a variety of courses related to their area of expertise and the general curriculum of the Psychology program. In addition to teaching introductory and upper level psychology courses, the faculty member would advise students and assist in departmental activities. Ability to teach effectively and interpret psychology in light of Reformed perspective is essential. Preference will be given to candidates with an earned doctoral degree in psychology with a specific area of expertise. Preferred areas may include clinical, cognitive, developmental or social psychology.
