Flu Bug Busters
Hints for Staying Healthy During Flu Season:
- Practice good hand washing techniques by cleaning your hands with soap and water for at least 15 seconds (sing the ABCs to yourself).
- Consider carrying personal hand sanitizer to use before and after using a public computer keyboard (Purell, Germ X, and generic forms also).
- Cover your nose and mouth, preferably with disposable tissue or your forearm, when coughing or sneezing.
- Stay home from work or school if you feel ill from the flu. That will help slow the spread of disease to others.
- Get plenty of rest, exercise and eat properly.
- Disinfect surfaces you touch frequently (door knobs, water faucets, refrigerator handle, telephones, computer keyboards).
The flu (influenza) is a virus that spreads from infected persons to the nose or throat of others. Influenza can cause:
- Fever
- Cough
- Sore throat
- Headache
- Chills
- Muscle aches
