"The mission of the Health, Physical Education, and Recreation department is 'to equip its student athletes with a Reformed, biblical understanding of play, game, and sport for lives of service to God and others.'"
Northwest Iowa and Dordt College: Partners in Growth
Northwest Iowa has a reputation as a forward-looking region. The continued development of new businesses and the growing population of Sioux County attest to the effectiveness of this approach.
Dordt College is looking forward. We are eager to meet the challenges and opportunities God will place before us, and are taking steps to reach out even further to constituencies old and new.
Our decision to pursue the implementation of a football program is a bold and exciting step for the future. It also fits well with Dordt's mission and with Sioux County's progressive vision for Northwest Iowa. Not only will football bring new students to the college, but it will bring added vibrancy to the region. New students mean a growing college which is good for the community. Saturday football games will bring energy, excitement and a steady stream of people flowing into Sioux Center and the surrounding community to not only watch football, but also to patronize area businesses.
Football at Dordt College is one more element in creating a stronger Dordt College and encouraging a vibrant local community. In order to make this happen, we have committed to raise the following start-up funds as quickly as possible:

"I am eager for the opportunity to lead the Dordt College football program from its infancy into a highly respected program that helps each of its student-athletes reach their full potential spiritually, academically, socially, and athletically."
