Bringing Things Into Focus
Study. Examine. Understand. At Dordt College, you'll gain the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in an increasingly complex world. You'll develop genuine Christian insight. You'll find a life of service and a life of accomplishment always go hand in hand.
Spiritual Growth
At Dordt, there are many ways to glorify God and many paths that lead to spiritual growth. Non-compulsory chapel is held twice a week. Students can also join organized Bible study and prayer groups. Or participate in self-directed study. Or get involved in an array of service groups.
Exceptional Academic Experience
High academic standards. It's a phrase you hear a lot.
But at Dordt, we put it into practice with an excellent curriculum. Here at Dordt College, the world is your canvas. What kind of picture will you paint? Many of our students arrive not knowing what they will do with their lives. While they're here, they explore a rich diversity of classes, study alongside Christian mentors, and experience incredible hands-on learning opportunities. By the time they leave, they have big dreams and solid direction. So will you!
Assistance, Please
The Academic Skills Center (ASK) at Dordt functions as a free service to all Dordt students to enable them to maximize their learning in their course work, and to equip them with the necessary skills to function both within an academic community and as lifelong independent learners. Whether it's writing an essay or finishing a calculus assignment, we have peer tutors who can help.
Take a Break
Dordt students study hard, but extracurricular activities are important, too. And Dordt offers a wide array, from intramural sports to social events. So hey, what do you feel like tonight? A game of racquetball in the Recreation Center? Hanging out in the Campus Center? Or going out for pizza and a movie?
Your Home Away from Home
At Dordt, you're never lonely. Almost ninety percent of Dordt students live in the residence halls or apartments. What's it like? Modern, comfortable, supportive. "Like being part of a huge, loving extended family," said one Dordt student.
Over at the Campus Center, the 24-hour hub on campus, students are checking mailboxes, talking over espresso at "The Humble Bean," bowling with friends, enjoying snacks at the Defender Grille, sending emails, browsing the glass-floored art gallery, and shopping at the bookstore.
Christian Love
Outreach. Helping others. At Dordt, there's plenty of opportunity to be of service. From mission work in the Dominican Republic to renovating houses for low-income families in Mississippi, Dordt students find many ways to share God's love.
