Alumni Notes
Many of you are doing a wonderful job of
notifying the alumni office
and Voice when you have birth announcements and marriage
information to share with other alumni. We'd sure like to receive
career news updates as well.
Many alums would like to hear what
you’ve been up to! Claim your credential fileMany alumni created credential files with the Placement Office when they were students at Dordt. These credential files contain letters of recommendation from professors and businesses. For education majors, the files also contain student teaching evaluations. Because it is no longer vital for this office to keep the files, we would like alumni to take possession of their files as soon as possible. We have already begun to shred some older files, but most are still available at this point. (These files should not be confused with academic records, which will never be destroyed.)
If you graduated with a general major any time from 1990 to the present, you may immediately claim your credential file. Education majors who graduated between 1960 and 2003 should also claim their files. (We have to keep education files for five years after your graduation date, at which time they may be claimed.) There is no fee charged for this service. Files left unclaimed will ultimately be shredded.
To claim a file, send an e-mail to Ellen Mouw. Include your name, maiden name (if applicable), graduation year, and major or call 712-722-6078.
