DC Broader Vision Seminars
Dordt College Prairie. Learn about the development of Dordt's prairie, recent management practices, and future plans to restore native plants. Prairie walk with Dordt College Prairie Curator Robb De Haan will follow. Science Building, Room 108
Students Develop Ag Safety Device. Agriculture students developed a dust explosion simulator to help promote fire and explosion safety. Two different groups of students researched, designed, built, and tested the simulator, which promotes agricultural safety in the classroom and agricultural businesses. Join students and Dr. Duane Bajema to learn how it works. Science building, Room 101
Business Students as Consultants. The Dordt College Business Administration Department has a long history of providing internships for business and accounting majors. In recent years, the department has added small group consulting projects that provide a great hands-on learning experience for the students, and expand the college's impact and relevance in the community. Instructor of Business Dale Zevenbergen and students will provide an overview of this program that blends classroom instruction and internship experiences. Campus Center, Room 318

DC Broader Vision Seminars
A Globally-Engaged Campus. Some people jokingly say that Dordt College is in the middle of nowhere. Curtis Taylor and Linda Van Wyk disagree; they say that Dordt College is one step away from ANYWHERE! Join Dr. Taylor and Van Wyk as they describe the ways Dordt College is responding to the Board of Trustees initiative to build a globally-engaged campus. They will discuss e¢ orts to increase the number of international students on Dordt’s campus, to create and enhance study abroad opportunities, and to develop relationships with international institutions that can assist our students, faculty, and alumni. The Goheen Gallop 5k Fun Run. Participants receive a free race t-shirt with awards to age group winners. Refreshments provided. Entrance fee: $20. President's Brunch, Rec Center. This sit-down meal includes a brief welcome and campus updates from President and Mrs. Zylstra, and it’s a great place to meet other parents and friends. The meal is complimentary. Because it is attended by 600-700 guests, your RSVP before you arrive on campus is appreciated.

Siblings Brunch, Campus Center. This activity is designed for preschool to high school weekend guests. Meet promptly at 8:45 a.m. in the lower level of the Campus Center. The group will walk together for a complimentary breakfast in the Commons followed by age-appropriate activities (crafts and Game Room). Please pick up younger children by 10:30 a.m. in the Campus Center (lower level). Reservations appreciated.
