PARENTS WEEKEND
An Invitation from the Zylstras
Gloria and I hope you can join us and the more than 1,000 other families and friends of Dordt College students who will gather on campus in October for the 2011 Parents Weekend. This is always a highlight of the year for us—and we know it is for the hundreds of parents and grandparents who return year after year, sometimes even after their sons and daughters have graduated!
So if you are new to the Dordt College community, this is a tremendous opportunity to understand the heart and soul of our campus. Or if you are a "veteran" of these events, this is a grand time to get reacquainted with the enthusiastic learning community on campus.
Parents Weekend is an unparalleled oncea-year opportunity to experience the Christian spirit that infuses the academics, music, worship, art, athletics, theater, and social interactions that make a Dordt College education unique.
As parents, Gloria and I have been attending these annual events ever since our oldest son became a Dordt College student in the early '90s. And, as many of you know, we will be leaving the college following this academic year, so this will be our last chance to host the Saturday morning brunch, where you can join with 700 of your fellow parents in celebrating the wonderful sons and daughters you have sent our way.
We hope to be back just a few years from now as grandparents, to continue the annual celebration of a college where new generations can continue to live and learn together for God’s glory and praise. For the past 16 years, we've been excited to lead these annual celebrations. We hope that this year you’ll be joining us.
