Professor Mark Volkers, Professor of Communication. Location: Classroom building, Room 88. Enter by the Computer Center and go directly down the steps, then to your right.
  • "Was Shakespeare a Christian?" This session, which models English 312, will use Dordt's current production of The Winter's Tale to explore Shakespeare and religion. It will examine how literature is taught at Dordt, inquiring whether the title of the session is a good question. Dr. Robert De Smith, Professor of English. Location: Classroom building, Room 158.

From The President

Gloria and I really hope you'll be joining us this year for the 2007 Parents' Weekend. Whether a parent or grandparent of a current student - or just a friend of Dordt College - we know you'll be glad you came.

Zylstras

If you are new to the Dordt College community, there is probably no better way to become acquainted with the enthusiastic biblical learning community that our campus represents than to join the more than 1000 family members who will be gathering on our campus that weekend. And even if you've been here often in the past, I hope you'll remember what a great experience it really is - and invite others to come with you.

And if you've never come because you think you already know all there is to learn about Dordt College, I'd encourage you to join us this year and find out just what you've been missing!

Once again we'll have a full weekend festival of athletics, art, academics, food, worship, and drama. So if you want to experience Dordt College camaraderie that continues to attract growing numbers of students from across the continent and around the world, there really is no better opportunity. We're pretty sure you'll be enthused and inspired by this small taste of the quality Christian residential educational experience that is the heart of Dordt College.

And when you do come, please take time to make sure that Gloria and I get to know you personally. We've enjoyed getting to know your children/grandchildren and want to thank you for preparing them for this stage in their educational journey. There are so many wonderful young men and women on our campus; we also look forward to meeting the parents and grandparents who have helped make them who they are.

Please join us this October. As always, we'll have breakfast ready and will plan on having a great time together with you.

President and Mrs. Carl E. Zylstra
